Media Center
The mission of the Orion Oaks Media Center is to ensure that members of the school community are effective users of ideas and information by promoting enthusiasm and enjoyment of reading and by providing collaboration with fellow teachers, access to a rich assortment of resources, and instruction in technology and information literacy skills used in real-life contexts.
Our Media Center contains approximately 10,000 items of age-appropriate material to fulfill this mission.

About Mrs. Stevenson
My name is Abbie Stevenson and I am so proud to be the media specialist at Orion Oaks Elementary. This will be my third year at Orion Oaks as your media specialist. Before coming to Orion Oaks I was a media specialist in Marietta, Georgia for three years. Before becoming a media specialist I was a third grade teacher and a second grade teacher in Marietta, Georgia.
I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. I minored in math, science, and Spanish. I went on to graduate from Kennesaw State University in 2014 with a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology. In 2016 I graduated from West Georgia University with my endorsement in Library Science. I was born and raised in Midland, Michigan. My husband and I are from the same hometown, and all of our family lives there! I am a mom to two amazing sons - one in second grade at Orion Oaks and one in preschool at the CERC building. I am a reader, an animal lover, a teacher, a techie, a gardener, and a life long learner. I strongly believe that reading is the key to success! |
